 | | Florida man shoots huge 1200 pound wild boar
Florida resident Larry Early shot a wild boar that weighed between 1100 and 1200 pounds last August. Early shot the hog near a pond on his property, located near Okahumpa on the Florida Turnpike west of Orlando. Early had driven his truck to check the pond and fortunately had a gun readily available when the hog charged at him. Florida wild boars usually weigh between 100 and 400 pounds, but this one got huge as a result of eating grain from a neighbor's cattle farm. Early says that the hide (with the head) alone weighed 284 pounds and the neck was 42 inches round in circumference. The hog was too big to weigh on conventional 500 pound scales, so his meat processor, Smoking Oak Sausage, estimated the weight at between 1100 and 1200 pounds. And that's a lot of bacon and ham! ~The Redneck Bugle
Redneck Legends . . . Were they really injured using a bullet for a fuse? A story allegedly published in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette told the story of two rednecks that used a .22 caliber bullet shell in place of a burnt out automobile fuse. Eventually the fuse substitute heated enough to discharge, striking the driver in the right testicle? Is this a true story or not? (Click here to find out at Snopes.com.) |
